Given the starting image of a painted screen, SAAM-1971.88_1 Spirit of Christmas from the Smithsonian American Art Museum and its Renwick Gallery, This is what I came up with. When I was young, the room I slept in was more of a very wide hall way than an actual bedroom. My mother made me a privacy screen (before I even knew what they were) and covered it with the same wallpaper as what was in my room. It traveled with me through the move from Ohio to Michigan. It served its purpose both in the basement and a huge upstairs room. I don’t know what became of it in the next move, as I got a teeny tiny bedroom with a door. Maybe it was in my sister’s room, or it didn’t get moved at all? Seeing the image from the Smithsonian brought those memories back.
I’ve used stock images from AdobeStock, Pixabay and PixelSquid to create this grown up bedroom.
